The purpose of the Basics of Hydraulic Systems, Maintenance and Operation training programme is to provide learners with the foundational knowledge, operational understanding and safety awareness required to work with and around hydraulic systems in marine and offshore environments. The programme introduces the principles of hydraulic system behaviour, hazard awareness, safe systems of work, and maintenance fundamentals. It establishes a structured understanding of how hydraulic systems operate, how failures develop, and how risks can be controlled. Successful completion of the programme provides learners with a baseline level of knowledge and awareness required to safely interact with hydraulic systems.

Any person involved in the maintenance of vessel's hydraulic equipment.

Minimum understanding of hydraulic systems and equipment.
