Target Audience

The Basic Technical Training modules are targeted at candidates who have no previous experience of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical or installation systems, or working with energy powered bolt tightening, but may also be used to upskill candidates who have some knowledge but not of its application in wind turbines.

Prerequisites

All participants who attend a GWO Training course must create a profile in WINDA in order to get a WINDA ID which they must supply to the Training Provider prior to completing the training. https://winda.globalwindsafety.org

All personnel participating in this training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating.
Participants’ signatures testifying to their medical fitness will be collected prior to the start of the module.

There are additional prerequisites for both the Bolt Tightening and Installation modules: 

a. Before attending the BTT Bolt Tightening Module participants must first complete the BTT Mechanical Module. 

b. Before attending the BTT Installation Module participants must first complete both the BTT Mechanical and BTT Bolt Tightening modules.

Yes. Upon successful completion of the BTT Mechanical Module, participants will be awarded a certification registered in the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) WINDA database. This certificate is valid for 2 years and confirms that the participant has successfully acquired the basic knowledge and skills to perform mechanical tasks safely within the wind industry.
