Objectives

The aim of the GWO BTT Installation Mechanical Module is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform basic mechanical installation tasks, supervised by an experienced technician, using safe working procedures and the correct PPE.

After successful completion of this module, participants will have a basic understanding of wind turbine installation environments, handling and storage of components, lifting operations, main component preparation, pre-assembly and assembly, mechanical completion, and related electrical, hydraulic and external generator principles relevant to mechanical installation work.

Prerequisites

All participants must be medically fit and capable of fully participating in the training.

Participants must create a personal profile in WINDA and provide their WINDA ID before completion of the training.

Before attending the GWO BTT Installation Mechanical Module, participants must have completed the following GWO modules:

  • GWO BTT Mechanical
  • GWO BTT Bolt Tightening
GWO BTT Installation Mechanical

Certification Standard

This course is certified according to the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Technical Training Standard.

Validity

No expiry period applies. GWO BTT modules are enduring qualifications. Retraining may be required according to company requirements, national legislation, or after an extended period without applying the skills.
